Our client is undergoing an expansion and they now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner or Nurse to step up into this specialist Team Leader position. Working alonside the Theatre Manager and Cardiology lead, you will take the lead on the cardiac surgery project, getting it ready to launch in early 2023.
Our client has a state of the art, purpose built hospital with 42 private ensuite rooms, 4 theatres including a hybrid theatre, a minor ops suite in Outpatients, 9 day case beds, endoscopy suite, on-site MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound and mammography, physiotherapy, pharmacy and 300 free car parking spaces.
Duties
You will take part in working groups for the project
Taking part in the surgical rota
Promote and lead the cardiac surgery services within the theatre suite environment, ensuring all standards are met in line with cardiac surgery services
Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient care
Act as a role model and mentor to clinical staff, providing advice and support to others
Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self
Identify, develop and support opportunities for improvements in operating department practices as highlighted through evidence, research based practice and national standards
Support the Theatre Manager and Theatre Lead to manage staff rosters in the most efficient way to meet demand
Assist the Theatre Manager and Theatre Lead to ensure all audits/reviews of the departments and their performance are undertaken and implement action plans in response to findings.
Requirements
You will be a qualified ODP or Registered Nurse with a valid registration to NMC or HCPC with no restrictions
Previous experience as a senior practitioner within a theatre environment
At least 3 years' senior experience in relevant cardiac surgery
Previous anaesthetic experience would be a distinct advantage
ALS provider
Expert knowledge of clinical practice
Evidence of success in working in partnership with Consultants to explore and challenge existing practices while maintaining and enhancing services and standards
Demonstrable skills of financial awareness and management with the need to balance the provision of quality care while maintaining a business focus
Ability to implement continuous improvement initiatives
