Responsibilities
As a Medical Secretary, you will:
Manage complex consultant diaries and coordinate clinic bookings, theatre lists and imaging appointments.
Act as the primary point of contact for patients, providing clear, empathetic communication throughout their care journey.
Prepare and distribute clinic letters, medical reports, and ensure accurate transcription of consultant dictations.
Maintain compliance with GDPR, confidentiality, and CQC standards.
Handle billing and insurance liaison, including generating invoices and managing authorisations.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Medical Secretary or in clinical administration.
Strong understanding of medical terminology.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
IT proficiency (Microsoft 365, Semble, Carebit, 3CX).
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable:
Experience in Orthopaedics, Pain Management or Rheumatology.
Knowledge of private medical insurance billing.
Experience in a CQC-registered setting.
