Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for individualised patient care acting as the named nurse for the patient.
Maintain accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care within the nursing framework.
Promote safe practice and professional conduct, as well as research-based practice, quality assurance and clinical audit where appropriate.
Encourage good working relationships within the multidisciplinary team, to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.
Coordinate the patients’ discharge arrangements and ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records.
Skills & Experience
Registered General Nurse with valid NMC Registration.
Post registration experience in a surgical inpatient ward environment with Urology & Neurosciences experience.
IV giver/assessor and experience with cannulation & venepuncture, tracheostomy care and male catheterization would be advantageous.
Excellent communication and organisational skills who demonstrates high standards of clinical practice.
To be able to prioritise own workload effectively, and can work independently as well as part of a team in order to meet the demands of the unit.
