​Is your current recovery role giving you the recognition, development and environment you deserve?

You will be joining a renowned private surgical centre located in the distinguished Harley Street medical district. This exclusive clinic delivers exceptional post‑anaesthetic care for elective procedures, with particular expertise in plastic and cosmetic surgery.

Responsibilities
  • Receive patients directly from theatre, conducting continuous monitoring of airway, breathing, circulation and consciousness

  • Assess and manage post-operative pain using safe, evidence‑based analgesia protocols

  • Recognise and respond to complications such as respiratory issues, cardiovascular instability, PONV, and uncontrolled pain

  • Monitor surgical sites, fluid balance, and maintain precise clinical documentation

  • Provide reassurance and clear communication to patients as they regain awareness

  • Determine patient readiness for discharge using recognised recovery criteria

  • Respond confidently to medical emergencies and escalate when required

  • Maintain recovery equipment, contribute to audits, and uphold strict infection‑control standards

  • Act as patient advocate, ensuring dignity, privacy, and safety at all times

Requirements
Essential
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) with a valid NMC registration

  • Post-registration experience in recovery, ICU, HDU, or post‑anaesthetic care

  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification

  • Strong knowledge of post-anaesthetic physiology and complications

  • Competent in airway management and clinical monitoring

  • Proficient pain assessment and management skills

  • Current BLS or ILS certification

  • Excellent communication and calm decision-making skills

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

  • Full right to work in the UK

Desirable
  • Post-registration PACU or critical care qualification

  • Experience in plastic/cosmetic surgery recovery

  • Experience within independent/private healthcare

  • ALS certification

  • Working knowledge of CQC standards and guidance
