Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to adult HDU patients
Provide continuous resident medical cover for acute and deteriorating patients
Work collaboratively with consultants, surgeons, anaesthetists, paediatric teams, nurses, and AHPs
Undertake timely assessments, manage acute issues, and escalate appropriately
Contribute to safe pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative management
Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure adherence to clinical governance standards
Support emergency responses and participate in the hospital’s 24/7 on-site medical team
Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient safety
Requirements
Essential
GMC registration with licence to practise
Previous clinical experience within the UK system
Experience in anaesthesia, acute medicine, intensive care, or critical care
Ability to manage deteriorating patients and acute presentations
Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills
A proactive, calm, and safety‑driven approach to patient care
Desirable
Experience in paediatric anaesthesia or paediatric critical care
Familiarity with private healthcare
Evidence of leadership or service development
Interest in flexible or annualised rota structures
