We are proud to announce our client is recruiting for a Theatre Scrub Nurse to join their State-of-the-art clinic in London’s West End, who specialise in Endoscopy.

They are looking for a Scrub Nurse to join their well-established team who can hit the ground running, therefore Endoscopy Scrub experience is ideal.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will be part of a scrub team working closely with anaesthetic and recovery colleagues. The hospital is a day care centre with three operating theatres dedicated to Endoscopy surgery.

  • Along with the rest of the theatre team, you will share responsibility for the management and organisation of the operating department, helping to ensure smooth, timely and efficient processes.

  • Delivering first class, patient care.

  • Contributing to continuous quality improvement.

  • Developing and enhancing the skills and knowledge of yourself and others.

  • Promoting evidence based on best practice.

  • Ensuring strict adhesion to legislation, policies, and procedures.

  • Respecting the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.

  • Preparing patients for clinical/ operative procedures.

  • Providing assistance in clinical/ operative procedures.

  • Providing initial emergency care as required.

  • Ensuring that the patient’s comfort, dignity, and privacy are always maintained.

  • Assembling, checking, and preparing the appropriate surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures incorporating various types of surgery prior to use and any faults reported to the Theatre Manager immediately.

  • Coordinating the use of supplies and equipment during the operating list, ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.

  • Monitoring, ordering, receiving, and checking stock items including consumables, equipment, and drugs.

  • Ensuring any accidents or complaints are fully documented and that the appropriate manager is informed.

  • Maintaining the safe custody, handling of drugs in accordance with the hospitals policy.

  • Your working hours will be 37.5 hours a week – 12 hours a day.

Requirements:

  • NMC Registered Nurse/ODP.

  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course and/or D32/D33/A1 X ILS/ALS Qualification.

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in surgical practice.

  • Knowledge of Endoscopy surgery including equipment.
