We are proud to announce our client is recruiting for a Theatre Scrub Nurse to join their State-of-the-art clinic in London’s West End, who specialise in Orthopaedics and Sports Injuries.
They are looking for a Scrub Nurse to join their well-established team who can hit the ground running, therefore Orthopaedics Scrub experience is ideal.
Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will be part of a scrub team working closely with anaesthetic and recovery colleagues. The hospital is a day care centre with three operating theatres dedicated to orthopaedic surgery.
Along with the rest of the theatre team, you will share responsibility for the management and organisation of the operating department, helping to ensure smooth, timely and efficient processes.

Ensuring strict adhesion to legislation, policies, and procedures.
Respecting the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.
Preparing patients for clinical/ operative procedures.
Providing assistance in clinical/ operative procedures.
Providing initial emergency care as required.
Ensuring that the patient’s comfort, dignity, and privacy are always maintained.
Assembling, checking, and preparing the appropriate surgical instruments and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures incorporating various types of surgery prior to use and any faults reported to the Theatre Manager immediately.
Coordinating the use of supplies and equipment during the operating list, ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.
Monitoring, ordering, receiving, and checking stock items including consumables, equipment, and drugs.
Ensuring any accidents or complaints are fully documented and that the appropriate manager is informed.
Maintaining the safe custody, handling of drugs in accordance with the hospitals policy.
Your working hours will be 37.5 hours a week – 12 hours a day.
NMC Registered Nurse/ODP.
ENB 998 and/or mentorship course and/or D32/D33/A1 X ILS/ALS Qualification.
Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in surgical practice.
Knowledge of orthopaedic day surgery including equipment.
