We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused MRI Radiographer to join our dynamic imaging team. This role requires a professional with at least two years of hands-on MRI experience and a strong commitment to delivering safe, high-quality diagnostic services. You will hold a recognized Radiography qualification and current HCPC registration, combining technical proficiency with compassionate care.
You’ll work across several locations supporting a collaborative environment where mentoring and continuous learning are encouraged.
Key Responsibilities
Imaging & Patient Care
Carry out MRI scans in accordance with established protocols, regulatory requirements and best practice guidelines (IRR 2017, IRMER 2017, CQC, SOR, RCR).
Complete safety screenings, obtain informed consent and confirm patient suitability for procedures.
Administer contrast agents under PGDs and consultant supervision, ensuring accurate documentation.
Deliver empathetic care, particularly for patients who may be anxious or distressed.
Operational Standards & Compliance
Maintain and operate MRI equipment safely, following local safety and infection control procedures.
Participate in routine audits, quality assurance checks and health and safety reviews.
Keep accurate records using RIS and PACS systems.
Adhere to GDPR and CQC standards, reporting incidents promptly in line with policy.
Teamwork & Leadership
Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
Support and mentor junior colleagues, contributing to training and onboarding.
Attend mandatory training sessions and assist with staff development initiatives.
Professional Growth
Keep CPD records up to date and stay informed about advancements in MRI technology.
Take part in service improvement projects and adopt innovative practices.
Engage in team meetings and ongoing training opportunities.
Essential Skills & Experience
Degree in Radiography (or equivalent qualification).
HCPC registration.
Minimum of two years’ MRI experience across a range of examinations.
Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong understanding of MRI physics and sequence optimization.
Knowledge of health and safety, infection control and clinical governance.
Ability to provide reassurance and support to patients under stress.
Working Pattern: Flexibility is essential, as shifts may include evenings, weekends, and bank holidays to support extended operating hours (Mon–Fri 8am–11pm, Sat 8am–10pm, Sun 8am–8pm).

Salary: £46,400–£50,000 per year
