Are you ready to lead a high performing intensive care team in a modern, private healthcare setting?

An established private hospital in the Sutton area is seeking a dynamic and experienced ICU Manager to oversee its 8-bed intensive care unit. This is a full time, permanent opportunity for a senior nurse leader to take ownership of a complex service and drive excellence in patient outcomes, staff development and operational performance.

You’ll be joining a hospital that has recently undergone significant investment in infrastructure and technology, offering a top tier environment for both patients and staff.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the ICU team, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care for patients with complex medical needs.

  • Oversee clinical assessments and care planning across a varied and evolving caseload.

  • Facilitate communication of sensitive and complex information between patients, families and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Support staff development through training, competency assessments and mentorship.

  • Drive continuous improvement in clinical standards, safety protocols and patient experience.

  • Ensure compliance with infection control, health and safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate patient transitions from ICU to ward environments, maintaining continuity of care.

  • Monitor and audit clinical performance, including early warning scores and critical care benchmarks.

  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of care delivery and team management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse (NMC) with unrestricted practice

  • Extensive experience in ICU/critical care nursing

  • Proven leadership and team management skills

  • Strong organisational and communication abilities

  • A commitment to delivering gold-standard care and fostering a positive team culture

  • Confidence in managing complex services and driving clinical excellence

What You’ll Receive

  • Salary: £65,000 - £70,000, depending on experience
