​The post holder will be based between the CT and General X-ray departments carrying out CT scans and general X-rays on a daily basis, depending on where the individual has been rostered to. Therefore, a flexible and adaptive working attitude is crucial, along with a willingness to participate in the out of hours (including nights) and weekend rotas.


The CT Department is currently comprised of one GE 750 HD CT scanner and is a very busy and challenging place to work. A variety of CT examinations including full body imaging, neurological, cardiac and biopsy procedures are undertaken, as well as some specialist orthopaedic imaging.


The X-ray department has two general X-ray rooms, an OPG machine, one fluoroscopy room, one DEXA scanner and one mammography machine. There is also a need to provide imaging external to the main department, namely in Theatres, Theatre Recovery and ITU.


The post holder’s objective will be to work with a team of Senior and Superintendent Radiographers to provide high standards of service to all of our clients patients. The departments can be extremely busy and the job holder must be able to work well under pressure in a complex environment. The post holder will have an adaptability and sensitivity to work within a diverse working environment. The post holder must have the ability, as well as the willingness to work independently, such as out of hours, as well as with a team and occasionally leading a more junior team of Radiographers.
