We have an exciting opportunity for an Anaesthetic Practitioner/Nurse to join our Operating Theatres department. This post is located at our main hospital site in Central London, and we are offering a competitive salary range of £35,743 - £42,956 per annum plus unsociable hours shift enhancements.

  • Job Location: This role is located at our main hospital facility in London.

  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

  • Shift Pattern: We operate a flexible shift pattern covering the service from Monday to Sunday, with participation in the on-call rota.

  • Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £35,743 - £42,956 plus shift enhancements, and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Duties

  • Work as a skilled member of the anaesthetic team, providing the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload, whilst assisting and supporting the anaesthetic physician and consultant anaesthetists.

  • Carry out nursing/ODP duties within an anaesthetic area according to policies and procedures, contributing to quality improvement, and promoting best evidence based practice.

  • Ensure that equipment is maintained and stock managed to ensure economical use of all resources.

  • Liaise and communicate with HSDU, recovery, theatre staff and floor nurses to facilitate the provision of excellent patient care.

  • Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for our patients, customers and visitors.

Requirements

  • RGN / ODP qualified practitioner (NMC or HCPC registration).

  • Recognised anaesthetic course is advantageous.

  • Experience working as an Anaesthetics Practitioner/ODP with strong knowledge and experience in anaesthetics and an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients.

  • Good communication skills with the ability to work under pressure and flexibly as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Highly motivated individual who is punctual, adaptable and continually maintains a professional image.
