Our client in South Kensington is looking for an experienced CT Lead to join their imaging department as the Superintendent.

The post-holder will have complete responsibility for planning and delivery of existing and potential services that are responsive to the needs of patients and the organisation. They will have direct line management responsibilities including the CT Lead and Mammography Lead.

Responsibilities

·         Participate in supporting clinical workload in general radiology and CT.

·         Work in collaboration with the Cromwell and Basinghall Radiology team and modalities including MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Administrative team and Radiotherapy staff to provide a comprehensive, effective and safe service.

·         Ensure that Quality Assurance tests are performed and that unacceptable findings are escalated appropriately and acted upon.

·         Devise and manage a QA programme for equipment, processing and Radiation Protection.

·         Lead by example and ensure all personal monitoring is worn correctly and appropriate radiation protection measures are used in line with policy.

·         Work within the local and national regulations and guidelines concerning ionising radiation and health and safety.

·         The post holder will provide leadership, ensure the appropriate delegation of tasks and take a problem-solving approach to the management of the department.

·         Responsibility for the day to day running of the department.

·         To liaise with other Heads of Department/Superintendents to ensure the best allocation of staffing requirements and a seamless patient journey.

·         Be fully trained and conversant with SECTRA PACs/RIS and ensure accurate input of information.

·         Ensure effective use of all resources by maintaining and monitoring effectively.

·         Participate in on call rota and flexible working hours when needed.

·         Effectively identify and manage staff attendance, performance and conduct issues and provide appropriate support to individuals as required. Manage formal HR processes where required.

·         Act as a change agent and innovator, promoting an effective change culture within the Radiology department.

·         Manage teams effectively, delegating appropriately and holding staff to account for the delivery of specific objectives and targets, maximising their performance through regular performance coaching and review, reflective practice and ensuring staff meet the required standards in their current job whilst developing their skills and knowledge

 

Requirements

·         BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent qualification in Radiography

·         State Registered Radiographer with the Health Care Professions Council

·         Evidence of other Continuing Professional Development in relevant modalities

·         Membership of appropriate professional body and/or clinical interest group

·         Competent in written and oral English

·         Substantial post graduate experience in general radiology at a senior level

·         Ability to manage the clinical and technical environment requiring knowledge of the scientific, clinical, technical and physical environment and requirements relevant to the delivery of modern and effective clinical imaging services.

·         Experience of departmental management
