A state-of-the-art surgery facility in Central London currently has an exciting vacancy for an enthusiastic Scrub Nurse with previous experience in Plastics to join their vibrant and dynamic team!

Requirements

  • NMC registered Adult Nurse/RGN or HCPC registered Theatre Practitioner/ODP

  • Previous experience in Plastic

  • Willing to further develop your skills and knowledge, ideally having completed or willing to undertake an Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assist qualification

  • Confident in undertaking all aspects of clinical care required to a high standard

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • A caring and compassionate nature

Duties

  • Delivery of individualised patient care of the highest standard, acting as the named nurse, ensuring the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation is in line with evidence base practices.

  • Carry out safe admission, discharge, diagnostic and interventional procedures in liaison with the Nurse in Charge and Ward Coordinator.

  • Promote a patient focused approach to care as well as safe practice and professional conduct.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and pharmacists) to ensure the effective care and treatment of patients.

  • Contribute to research and development programmes as well as uphold quality initiatives that improve ‘customer care’ and participate in the audit process.

  • Skills & Experience Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.

  • Post registration acute surgical ward experience.

  • Experience of Plastic surgery nursing and working in breast care management would be desirable but not essential as full training is provided.

  • Excellent clinical skills, but not limited to, ECGs, Phlebotomy, wound care/management.

  • Excellent communication skills and is respectful to a diverse range of patients from various cultures and backgrounds, with the confidence to assess situations and make clinical decisions appropriately.
