  • Registered General Nurse

Duties:

  • To provide a nursing assessment when appropriate, of referred cases to determine the suitability for forensic mental health nursing intervention.
  • To act as a prime provider of care for allocated patient(s) by planning, assessing and evaluating patient programmes of care.
  • To frequently prepare for, participate in and attend ward rounds and other multi-professional meetings.
  • To ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatments including the custody, storage and administration of medicines.
  • To advise staff of other psychiatric services in the nursing care of difficult to manage patients when appropriate.

Main duties

Our client is based in Huddlesfield and they provide services including urgent and emergency care, medical, surgical, maternity, gynaecology, critical care, childrens and young people's services, end of life care and outpatient and diagnostic imaging services. 

Requirements 

  • NMC or HCPC Registration 
  • Diploma/Degree in Adult Nursing 
  • Previous Theatre experience 
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. 

Duties 

  • To work within the HCPC/NMC code of professional practice, and within policies,procedures and guidelines of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust
  • To ensure that high standards of nursing care are given and maintained. And report to team leader when standards are not being maintained
  • To participate in the assessing, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised programmes of care
  • To recognise changes in patients conditions which require the intervention of others and refer on as appropriate
  • To promote and protect the interest and dignity of patients
  • Act as a ‘Link Practitioner’ within a defined specialty / interest area
  • Assist with the transfer of patients within department including the positioning of patients using correct procedures in accordance with local manual handling protocols
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment after use and between cases, ensuring safe disposal of all clinical and other waste in accordance with policies

Duties 

  • To be responsible for providing the appropriate nursing evidence based care of an allocated
  • group of patients.
  • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team using resources efficiently.
  • To deliver quality care to patients and to supervise the working of junior staff during the span of duty.
  • To be competent in carrying out a variety of clinical procedures.
  • To contribute to a culture that recognises and works in partnership with patients and their families, involving them in all decisions.
