Theatre Practitioner

Requirements 

  • An interest in development and progression is encouraged and reinforced, offering the opportunity to complete the surgical first assist course and specialise within the surgical areas on offer.
  • Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner
  • Orthopaedic Scrub experience would be advantageous
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within theatres
  • Experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision
  • ODP qualification
  • HCPC or NMC registration

Duties

  • Working as part of this large and well established supportive team you can expect to assist patients undergoing a variety of elective procedures including ENT, max fax, dental, plastics, pain management, orthopaedic, gynaecology and urology.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and reassure them
  • Caring for patients after surgery recovering from sedation
  • Review patient charts and confirm data
  • Ensure medical equipment needed for surgery is available
  • Follow surgeon's directions
  • Pass medical equipment/s to the surgeon
  • Monitor patient's condition during surgery

Surgical Ward Nurse

Requirements 

  • Be NMC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions

Duties
