Our client is looking for a new Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join their well-established theatre team. You will work alongside their multi-disciplinary team with some of the most well renowned surgeons in the world. We are an independent charity based hospital with a history in dating back 160 years!

Understands situations from the customer's perspective, and provides solutions, which fit the customer's needs. Focuses on customer service and care and takes a proactive approach to their needs and ownership of their issues.

The hospital aims to plan the specialist service for both inpatients and outpatients. Promoting and maintaining high professional standard of nursing; meeting the needs of patients in all aspects. To take the lead across specialist services in agreement with Executive Directors and Directors of Clinical services on initiatives to develop and modernise effective patient centred pathways from diagnosis to discharge. 


Requirements 

  • Registered Nurse with recognised post graduate theatre qualification or equivalent experience or Registered ODP with cert HE/Diploma
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Significant post registration skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge base of theatre
  • practice
  • Experience in orthopaedics and Urology
  • Experience in a wide variety of surgeries
  • Specialist knowledge operating theatre care
  • The ability to communicate with clarity and intelligibility in both written and spoken English. Ability to build a rapport, listen, persuade and negotiate
  • Flexibility to change shifts when department needs change
  • Must be able to participate in the on-call rota if required
  • Able to operate under pressure, cope with setbacks, self-aware

Duties  

  • To support in the management and organisation of care provision within the Operating Department.
  • Provide quality planned care for patients during their perioperative phase of care.
  • Assist in the delivery of patient care
  • Contribute to quality improvement
  • Develop and enhance   the skills and knowledge of others and self
  • Promote best evidence-based practice within own scope of practice
  • Apply legislation, policies and procedures correctly.
  • Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs.
