We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Oncology & Haematology Outpatients Unit based at our Clients Cancer Centre in Central London, Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).

Their main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, including a Hybrid theatre and two minimally invasive and day surgery theatres. The postholder will facilitate the provision of high quality care given to patients attending the outpatient service, taking on an extended clinical role including phlebotomy, venesection and standard dressings of central venous lines.
This is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.
The attractive salary range for this role is £21,259 - £27,441 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting & COLA) and will be dependent upon skills and experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
To be able to monitor patients’ vital signs, document appropriately and escalate any changes to the Registered Nurses.
To be able to work as part of a team to ensure the dissemination of holistic patient care.
To help provide efficient, effective and evidence-based nursing care to patients at the Clinic.
Phlebotomy skills on patients requiring blood tests, and to be able to process them on RUBY analyser. Ability to undertake quality control checks and equipment maintenance of RUBY analyser.
Undertake Venesection on patients.

Skills & Experience
NVQ in Care Level 2.
Minimum 1-year current experience as a healthcare assistant in an acute hospital environment.
Numerate with basic calculations.
Able to deliver basic care skills with distance supervision.
