Do you have experience in Echocardiography?

One of our top clients is looking for a Clinical Lead for EchoCardiography. The role is aimed at an experienced Cardiac Physiologist specialising in Echocardiography. As a Clinical Lead in Echocardiography, you will be an Echocardiographer with experience in undertaking stress Echo, ideally with the added skill of undertaking exercise treadmill testing.

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Provide specialist knowledge and expertise for the clinic, to ensure that clinical Echocardiography services are delivered at the highest standards of quality, efficiency and safety   

  • Provide clinical and professional support to the team in the clinical environment through a programme of assessment, mentoring, and training, where appropriate with Echo

  • Provide comprehensive reporting of Echo’s to the medical team 

  • Ensure a high quality of customer satisfaction for the clientele 

  • Support the cardiac team on a day-to-day basis, taking on cardiac stress tests when required in accordance with the BRUCE Protocol

  • Assist colleagues with the day-to-day running of the client’s journey

  • Provide a supportive role for the cardiac physiology team in cover of AL and sickness with regards to exercise treadmill tests

  • Provide support on interpretation and training with the cardiac team and doctors 

  • Design and implement audit projects with the Medical Director 

  • Produce and review standard operating procedures concerning the echo service 

  • Look to introduce and develop a stress echo service and possible introduction of 3D echo



  • Demonstrable appreciation of patient care

  • Implications of the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Statement of Compliance and Caldicott Principles.

  • Care Quality Commission fundamental standards for health care.

  • Ability to prioritise conflicting demands successfully through developed organisational and time

  • management skills.

  • Developed interpersonal and relationship management skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication.

  • A demonstrable aptitude towards improving quality. 

  • Computer literacy with accurate data entry skills and attention to detail.

  • BSE registered.

  • Must have up to date theoretical and practical knowledge of Echocardiography and exercise induced stress echo

  • Previous involvement in providing workplace clinical training, supervision and assessment.
