Requirements for the Theatre Practitioner

  • Registered Professional either Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
  • Mentorship/teaching qualification
  • Evidence of working within a similar environment
  • Post registration experience
  • Ability to treat all patient/employee information confidentially
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate information verbally which maybe sensitive/difficult
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to work flexibly

Main duties for a Theatre Practitioner

  • You must be able yo provide planned care for patients undergoing anaesthetic and surgical procedures.  
  • You will assist in the management of work as required
  • To assist in the supervision, leadership and training of the theatre team when required.
  • Understand the need for effective communication with users of the service
  • Demonstrate effective and appropriate skills in communicating information, advice, instruction and professional opinion to colleagues, patients, clients, users, their relatives and carers seeking help when required.
