Requirements

  • RGN/ODP
  • Recognised Peri Operative Course
  • Able to scrub for a wide variety of different specialities.
  • Understanding of the role and what is expected of them
  • At least 3 years post registration experience
  • Minimum of 2 years scrub experience

Duties

  • Anticipate and interpret patient needs and the level of care required.
  • Ability to provide more complex care needs to patients with minimal supervision.
  • Develop advanced clinical skills and specialist practice.
  • Implement and actively promote research based nursing and clinical practice.
  • Evaluate care outcomes for a list of patients, as delivered by a team.
  • Deal safely and professionally with a range of clinical challenges within the workplace.
  • Delegate and co-ordinate the nursing team in the delivery of care for a theatre list.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of skill mix.
  • Actively contribute to the development and up dating of theatre nursing procedures and policies.
  • Act as a clinical resource within the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Actively contribute to the development of quality initiatives and internal audit.

Requirements 

  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HPC registration

Duties

  • To ensure the safe disposal of all clinical waste as per Trust policy;
  • To accurately record the operative procedure according to the direction of the operating surgeon;
  • To ensure the patient is managed safely whilst in the Theatre Department;
  • To ensure the privacy and dignity of patients is maintained at all times

  • They set up the operating room for the patient
  • Ensure all the tools are sterile and ready to go
  • Hand tools to the doctor during the surgery
  • Perform other duties inside the surgical room

Requirements 

  • Be NMC/HCPC registered - your pin should not have any restrictions or conditions
  • Have a minimum of 2 to 3 years scrub experience.
  • Compassionate and able to showcase excellent patient care
  • Strong communication skills
  • Assisting qualification, teaching qualification desirable

Duties

  • We are looking for a Registered Nurse or ODP who has Scrub experience.
  • The role covers multi-specialties therefore, this is a fantastic opportunity to branch out and develop your knowledge and experience. 
  • The 5 operating theatres are busy throughout the day, but every day is never the same due to the diversity of the workload, making this theatre department a fantastic place to work
  • We prefer our theatre staff to be as multi-skilled as possible, so ideally, you will be able to work across scrub, anaesthetics and/or recovery, but many of our staff specialise in just one or two areas. 
  • Most importantly, our theatre staff are experienced in a variety of surgical procedures, or are willing to learn new procedures and techniques under expert supervision.
  • This is a full time role covering 37.5 hours a week, working on a rota and 1:3 weekends

  • Additional training is also desirable.

Theatre Practitioner – Scrub/Surgical First Assistant

If so, our client is looking for a Theatre Practitioner – Scrub/Surgical First Assistant to join their state of the art facilities in Liverpool. They are looking for a motivated, skilled and experienced nurse who is keen to join their team. 

Our client offers of a variety of elective procedures including ENT, neurological, orthopaedic, laparoscopic, ophthalmic, gynaecology and urology.

Requirements

  • Operating Department Practitioner with Scrub Experience
  • Experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision
  • ODP qualification
  • HCPC or NMC registration
  • Onsite education team will keep you up to date with BLS and ILS and you will be provided with your ALS training.

Duties

  • You will be required to support the senior staff ensuring high standards of effective care are delivered to all patients within the Theatre suite, whilst maintaining communication within the team
  • You will also need to prepare an operating theatre for surgery in relation to instrumentation, equipment and supplies required for specific operative procedures, ensuring waste is kept to a minimum
  • You will be required to perform scrub duties
  • RN or ODP qualification
  • English National Board Advanced scrub practitioner qualification in perioperative practice desirable
  • Must have experience of working as a perioperative practitioner in and across surgical teams
