Our client has had an amazing opportunity arise in their hospital for a Senior Radiographer who specialises in Mammography, they are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Radiographer to join their busy Imaging Department. 

This opportunity is a excellent chance for an experienced Radiographer who has experience in CT and MRI. You will responsible for performing a range of diagnostic radiographic procedures – general x-ray, theatres, mammography, fluoroscopy, DSA and Interventional Radiology.

Duties and responsibilities 

  • You will assess the clinical justification of Radiography referrals Act as a point of advice for imaging referrers. 
  • You must act as a point of advice for patient enquiries regarding their referral. 
  • You will participate in the breast MDT meetings. 
  • You should maintain a high level of expertise in the safe operation of X-Ray equipment and manage faults effectively. 
  • Need to work as part of a team to ensure effective communication and delivery of care. 
  • Need to liaise with other departments/ wards within the hospital and various external sources. 
  • Must adapt and quickly respond to changes in service, patients or departmental used. 
  • You will ensure that a high standard of patient care and high professional standards are maintained throughout the imaging department. 
  • Need to be familiar with the range of technical applications available on imaging. 


  • Diagnostic Diploma of College of Radiographers or BSc Hons. 
  • Need evidence of CPD 
  • Must have certificate of competence in Mammography. 
  • Have expert knowledge of diagnostic imaging. 
  • Delivery, especially in Mammography
  • Need current HCPC registration. 
  • Evidence of decision-making skills 
  • Need excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Must have ability to work independently and accurately

Senior Radiographer


Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Radiographer to join their brilliant team. 


  • To support and deliver radiography in the hospital’s Angiography Lab. 
  • To contribute to and help develop a multi-disciplinary team in all aspects of clinical practice, so as to ensure the best journey for patients. 
  • Maintain a high standard of imaging and patient care in accordance with the departmental and hospital quality standard.
  • Perform all types of cardiac and radiographic examinations as required by referring Physicians.
  • Demonstrate significant evidence of cardiac expertise and angiographic knowledge to meet with the expectations of the interventional consultant.
  • Be prepared to train and work in both single plane and biplane Angiography Suite.
  • Assist in the care of all equipment within the department ensuring that cleanliness is maintained and that all equipment faults are reported immediately.
  • Be fully conversant with the Radiology Management System, PACS, and the computerised method of patient and examination documentation.
  • Participate in a departmental On-Call rota and to work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns.

  • You must act under the IR(ME)R Radiation Regulations and the Imaging Departments Local Rules and You will make sure the Radiation Protection Policies ensuring that the benefit to the patient outweighs the radiation risk associated with the examination.
  • You must provide timely, efficient and courteous provision of high-quality radiographic services taking account of patients clinical, physical and cultural needs. 
  • You will need to responsible for the safe use and maintenance of complex, specialist imaging equipment, maintaining competencies across all the various imaging modalities via rotation throughout the department.
  • Make yourself accountable for own professional actions and work within codes of practice and professional guidelines outlined by the Health Professions Council & Society of Radiographers
  • You will have to be responsible for ensuring the legal documentation on the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) is completed for each patient episode.
  • You must perform out of hours imaging duties via the on-call rota
  • You will receive and welcome patients and staff and deal with any enquiries in a kind and courteous manner.
  • Really Important for you to communicate complex information relating to conditions and procedures to staff, patients and carers and ensure informed consent for examinations.
  • You must anticipate and interpret patient’s needs, defining the level of care required on an individual basis.
  • You must make sure that you communicate effectively with staff within and outside of the department to ensure the smooth operation of the service, including liaising with ward staff, outpatients, consultants, & GP’s.
  • Important that you provide information to patients regarding examinations and understand the necessary preparations. 
  • You will work with other Radiographers, Consultant Radiologists, and Health Care Professionals to assist them with diagnostic examinations and other procedures.
  • Vital for you to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors within the department. 
  • You must ensure patients receive timely and accurate information about their examination, and ensure urgent findings are communicated in the appropriate way to referrers


  • Minimum 3 years post qualification experience 
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team 
  • You will operate manual handling aids as provided by the department including patient slide boards, sheets, hoists and trolleys.
  • Must be able to wear radiation protective clothing and monitoring devices.

Senior Staff Nurse - Radiographer

You will be providing a professional radiotherapy service within all the Sussex Cancer Centre locations covering the planning, simulating, calculating and treatment of cancer patients, as well as liaising effectively with the multidisciplinary team. Once experienced, you will have the responsibility for the daily running of the Linear Accelerator through set competency training. You are required to have advanced clinical knowledge of radiotherapy procedures, tissue tolerances and physiological reactions due to radiation exposure. You will be practicing in accordance with current legislation governing the use of ionising radiation IR(ME)R. A high level of competence is required in the use of a wide range of highly complex technical and computerised systems, including;

  • Linear Accelerators for the delivery of radiation treatment, Computerised patient information and appointment management system

  • Image matching programmes for verification and evaluation procedures during treatment, QA equipment for daily tolerance checks

  • Equipment for the delivery of high dose radiation: dual energy, dual modality Linear Accelerators Computerised Tomography (CT) scanners.

  • Computerised treatment-planning systems

  • QA equipment for daily tolerance checks

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Expand knowledge and experience to take responsibility for the completion of pre-treatment checks of plans prior to first treatment checking prescriptions, calculations, consent and consultant approval.

  • Ensure that treatment documentation and data entry is accurate

  • Co-ordination of individual treatment plans between physics planning, CT and treatment machines, ensuring time targets are met

  • Take the lead for all treatment set ups within the treatment room, seeking advice only when beyond their competence

  • Reorganise workload when there is a machine breakdown.

  • Write up treatment plans and enter computerised treatment delivery systems.

  • Work autonomously according to protocol and achieved competencies in undertaking organisational tasks.

  • Ensure the accuracy of records for the care, treatment, advice and tests undertaken for individual patients.

  • Analyse and update information systems necessary for the safe treatment of patients during their treatment.

  • Undertake and calculate small changes to treatment protocols where necessary.

  • Undertake quality assurance procedures and report when out of tolerance.

  • Liaise with other departments concerning patients’ treatment and appointments.

  • Arrange follow-up appointments for patients.

  • Organise patients to be seen by the dietician, Macmillan team, Speech Therapist,

  • Physiotherapist, Lymphedema Nurse, Appliance Officer and Social Worker


  • DCR in Therapeutic Radiography.

  • Relevant short specialist courses in Radiotherapy.
