Job Summary:

To undertake a range of non-invasive Cardio and Respiratory investigations as detailed below, and to maintain a high standard of technical skill, efficiency and patient care in accordance with departmental protocols and procedures. The job holder should demonstrate in depth experience, be able to work independently and to lead Stress Treadmill.

  • Ambulatory ECG Monitoring and Tape Analysis
  • Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Resting and Exercise ECG, and to lead stress test without medical supervision
  • Comprehensive profile of Full Lung Plethysmorgraphy testing, Reversibility and Transfer Studies
  • To perform a range of Cardiology and Lung Plethysmography tests and to lead Exercise Treadmill
  • To work within the Cardiology team to deliver the highest standards of care and service to patients and referrers. This includes the appropriate assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of activities in keeping with policies and procedures. 
  • The post holder will provide a high level of technical expertise in a physiologist led environment
  • To provide an efficient service and to ensure that patients remain in the department for the minimum possible time, consistent with satisfactory clinical, technical requirements and patient experience is positive.
  • To liaise with Consultant Cardiologists, Respiratory Consultants and referring clinicians, nursing colleagues to ensure that relevant information of the patient in your care is communicated.

Essential Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • HTEC / BSc in Clinical Cardiology and Respiratory or equivalent 
  • ARTP or equivalent
  • ASCST or equivalent
  • Intermediate Life Support training

Experience:

  • To have a minimum of two years post qualification experience in Cardiology and Respiratory
  • Worked in NHS and private healthcare organisation
  • Of working with related cardiology, respiratory equipment and their software

Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of routine and complex cardiology and respiratory techniques
  • To have a good knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, national standards, professional and other guidelines associated with Cardiology and Respiratory 
  • To have knowledge of current trends and developments in cardiology, respiratory equipment and techniques
  • To have a good understanding of the concept of CPD
  • To have knowledge of QA programmes
  • Of working with a wide range of cardiology, respiratory medical equipment and their related software

Skills:

  • To have a wide range of clinical skills in cardiology and respiratory measurements
  • To have excellent written, keyboard skills 
  • To be effective in verbal communication and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills 
  • To be familiar with computerised patient information systems

  • To be articulate, diplomatic, flexible and calm
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels

Desirable Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • MSc in Clinical Cardiology or relevant advanced postgraduate qualification to Masters level
  • RCCP

Senior Radiographer

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Radiographer to join their brilliant team. 

Duties

  • To support and deliver radiography in the hospital’s Angiography Lab. 
  • To contribute to and help develop a multi-disciplinary team in all aspects of clinical practice, so as to ensure the best journey for patients. 
  • Maintain a high standard of imaging and patient care in accordance with the departmental and hospital quality standard.
  • Perform all types of cardiac and radiographic examinations as required by referring Physicians.
  • Demonstrate significant evidence of cardiac expertise and angiographic knowledge to meet with the expectations of the interventional consultant.
  • Be prepared to train and work in both single plane and biplane Angiography Suite.
  • Assist in the care of all equipment within the department ensuring that cleanliness is maintained and that all equipment faults are reported immediately.
  • Be fully conversant with the Radiology Management System, PACS, and the computerised method of patient and examination documentation.
  • Participate in a departmental On-Call rota and to work flexible hours if required to accommodate changing workload patterns.

Essential

Outreach Nurse - ICU

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic outreach nurse/intensive care nurse, with minimum five years’ experience at a senior position, who has successfully completed their ICU and mentorship courses and is willing to develop further in this speciality.

Our Client is the UK’s largest independently owned non-profit hospital. Consisting of over 250 patient’s beds and 17 theatres (including a minimally invasive theatre and the new Hybrid vascular theatre), an endoscopy unit, a radiology unit, dialysis and a state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit, they undertake highly complex procedures, in addition to routine surgery and medicine.
The Clinic’s Outreach Team is part of the Intensive Care Nursing Team. As an independent sub-team, the service provided is nurse-led and offers support and guidance to nurses in all ward areas, in relation to patients who have been discharged from Intensive Care, or who are at risk of deteriorating whilst in the ward environment. This is the only Independent Sector Outreach Team in London to provide a 24h service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Independently act as a specialist resource to provide critical care expertise to the multidisciplinary team, irrespective of patients’ clinical speciality or presenting condition, acting as an emergency resource via bleep system to calls for support to Level 1 adult patients
  • Make suggestions for patient management through analysis of available information and initiate referrals to multidisciplinary specialists, as judged appropriate
  • Provide follow-up care to patients transferred from critical care to ward areas
  • Participate as a member of the Resuscitation Team, by responding and providing care in emergency situations
  • Evaluate the nursing service and ensure agreed Clinic’s standards are adhered to
  • Work with Matrons Office/Ward Managers to uphold agreed standards of care
  • Assist in the identification of educational needs of the MDT, in relation to critical care skills within the Clinic
  • Participate in staff education and development, and act as mentor and resource for learners within the nursing and multi-disciplinary team
  • Submit and investigate accidents, incidents (Datix) and complaints, implementing corrective actions where necessary, in consultation with the unit management
  • Contribute to the management, support of the daily activities, leadership and strategy of the Unit
  • Behave according to the Clinic’s Behavioural Framework
