Responsibilities

As a Staff Nurse in the Day Unit, you will:

  • Deliver safe, high‑quality, individualised nursing care in line with hospital policies

  • Participate in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care

  • Provide specialist clinical advice within your area of practice

  • Collaborate with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to maintain outstanding service standards

  • Promote and support Clinical Governance throughout all clinical activities

  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure safe use of resources

  • Continuously develop your clinical practice and professional competence

Requirements
Essential
  • Registered Nurse (Adult) – NMC Part 1

  • Minimum 12 months post‑registration surgical experience

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise effectively and work calmly under pressure

  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development

  • A positive, team‑focused attitude

Desirable
  • Mentorship or teaching experience

  • Basic IT skills

  • Knowledge of current professional issues and evidence‑based practice
