As a Senior Staff Nurse in HDU, you're registered with the appropriate governing body and you hold the relevant qualifications and experience, including NMC. As well as post-registration experience, you bring knowledge of mentoring and multi-specialty surgical procedures. Ideally, you hold qualifications in teaching and assessment, and management.

 

What will you be doing?

 

  • Lead by example and be an ambassador for our clients way of caring.

  • Recognise talent and nurture junior colleagues, mentoring them to be the best they can be.

  • Use your excellent clinical skills and empathetic approach to meet each patient's needs.

  • Enjoy autonomy to make decisions that ensure excellent patient care.

  • Provide day-to-day supervision, including clinical supervision of junior nursing staff and students.

  • Contribute to scheduling and rotas, recruitment, induction, performance reviews and training.

Skills and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse.

  • Recognised postgraduate

  • Critical Care qualification.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within the Critical Care environment.

  • Experience within the Theatre Recovery Room environment.

  • Competence in delivering a high level of critical care.

  • Competence in delivering a high level of post anaesthetic care.

  • Good computer and numeracy skills.

  • Ability to analyse and put into practice evidence-based practice.

  • A high level of communication skills within all disciplines.

  • Flexibility in response to needs of the department.

  • Ability to deliver a high level of customer service to patients and Consultants.

  • Good Team working skills.

  • Ability to exercise rational judgement when escalating issues.
