About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Scrub Nurses to work within the operating theatres of a leading NHS hospital in Norfolk.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Scrub Nurse looking for flexible agency shifts within a busy theatre environment. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary surgical team, providing safe and effective perioperative care to patients undergoing a range of procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Work as a Scrub Nurse during surgical procedures.
Prepare and check surgical instruments, equipment and consumables.
Maintain strict sterile technique and infection prevention standards.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and wider theatre team.
Assist with patient preparation, positioning and safety checks.
Complete relevant theatre documentation.
Ensure instruments and equipment are available and ready for procedures.
Work effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, ODPs and other theatre staff.
Maintain patient safety, dignity and confidentiality at all times.
Follow NHS policies, clinical guidelines and professional standards.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Current NMC registration.
Previous experience working as a Scrub Nurse / Theatre Nurse.
Strong knowledge of sterile technique and perioperative practice.
Good understanding of surgical instruments and theatre procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The ability to remain calm and effective in a busy theatre environment.
A strong commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.
Flexibility to work agency shifts.
