As a Theatre Practitioner specialising in orthopaedics, you will support consultant‑led procedures ranging from routine cases to complex major surgery.

Whether you are already an advanced scrub practitioner or keen to progress into an Surgical First Assistant (SFA) role, full support and training are available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scrub for a broad range of orthopaedic procedures, supporting surgeries of varying complexity

  • Maintain strict aseptic technique and uphold infection‑control standards at all times

  • Assess and respond to patient needs across a dynamic peri‑operative caseload

  • Contribute to personalised peri‑operative care planning and patient safety strategies

  • Work collaboratively within a high‑performing multidisciplinary theatre team

  • Support excellent patient outcomes through preparation, precision, and clear communication

The Ideal Candidate

Essential
  • HCPC‑registered ODP or NMC‑registered Nurse

  • Significant scrub experience, including major cases

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Confidence working within multidisciplinary theatre teams

  • Commitment to maintaining the highest clinical standards

Desirable
  • Motivation to undertake Surgical First Assistant training (fully supported)

  • Experience in a private healthcare environment
