Our hospital supports a multispecialty Intensive Care Unit, caring for Level 2 and Level 3 patients and working alongside expert consultants across cardiothoracic, orthopaedic, gynaecological and general surgical specialties.

As an ICU Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, effective and person‑centred care to critically unwell patients. This 12 month fixed term contract offers the opportunity to consolidate and enhance your critical care experience within a supportive, high‑performing private healthcare setting.

You will work on a 7‑day rota, gaining valuable exposure to complex post‑operative and medical cases, while being supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

  • Deliver safe, evidence‑based care to Level 2 and 3 ICU patients

  • Continuously assess, reassess and respond to complex and changing clinical needs

  • Provide high‑quality post‑operative care following cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and general surgery

  • Safely handle and share sensitive and complex patient information

  • Contribute to effective multidisciplinary care planning

  • Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation

  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, relatives and colleagues

  • Uphold the highest standards of clinical governance, safety and dignity

The Ideal Candidate

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (no restrictions)

  • Proven ICU / ITU experience

  • ICU qualification/certificate

  • Strong communication and clinical decision‑making skills

  • Calm, professional approach in high‑pressure situations

Desirable

  • Cardiothoracic ICU experience
