Our client in London is looking for a CT superintendent to join their radiology department and progress in their career

What you’ll do:

  • To lead by example and ensure all personal monitoring is worn correctly and appropriate radiation protection measures are used in line with policy.

  • To devise and manage a QA programme for equipment, processing and Radiation Protection.

  • Ensure that Quality Assurance tests are performed and that unacceptable findings are escalated appropriately and acted upon.

  • To work in collaboration with the wider Radiology team and modalities including MRI, Nuclear Medicine, General X-Ray, Mammography, Administrative team and Radiotherapy staff to provide a comprehensive, effective and safe service.

  • To act as a leader and supervise and develop the skills and competencies of staff within the CT department.

  • Attend any relevant training courses necessary to ensure the effective delivery of the role and maintain personal development.

  • Ensure effective use of all resources by maintaining and monitoring effectively.

  • Participate in on call rota and flexible working hours when needed.

  • Monitor individual work functions such as clerical and assistant support duties in an effort to integrate these within the patient journey and minimise delays and waiting times.

  • Identify, plan and effectively organise immediate to long term resource needs for the department, staffing levels and rotas, taking trends in referral patterns and demand into account.

  • Maintain overall responsibility for ensuring appropriate staffing levels and skills mix across the CT department. Develop plans to accommodate current and future demands by changing/improving working patterns to meet hospital and departmental objectives.

What you’ll bring:

  • BSc (Hons) degree or equivalent qualification in Radiography

  • State Registered Radiographer with the Health Care Professions Council

  • Evidence of other Continuing Professional Development in CT

  • Membership of appropriate professional body and/or clinical interest group

  • Competent in written and oral English

  • Substantial post graduate experience in radiology at a senior level, including CT

  • Ability to manage the clinical and technical environment requiring knowledge of the scientific, clinical, technical and physical environment and requirements relevant to the delivery of modern and effective clinical imaging services.
